Vinyl top removal, 69' Chevelle

Hey guys I am new to the restoration process and was wondering if anyone could help me out. I have a 69' chevelle malibu, I am looking to transform it to a hard top from the black vinyl top on it now... I hear these are a real pain in the you know what to get off, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Not hard to get off, but a pain to clean up the mess they cause.......Be ready for glue.....and rust. Hopefully, it didn't rust too bad under there, but I have seen very few that didn't.

After trying most chemical ways, which usually don't work, use a heat gun on low with a putty knife for the worst of it.Then finish up with something like Acetone or such.
You'll likely have rusted out back glass corners, the top/sail panel joint and possiably along the bottom of the sail panel.
You'll have some trim holes to fill, trim stubs to cut off and the top/sail joint to fill. You'll need different quarter glass trim if you plan on putting trim back on as well.
The 69 I did already had the vinyl gone when I got it but nothing else was done.I got pics of all of it so if you need something specific, let me know.
