I know this is somewhere in this forum already but I can't find the information.
Where to buy real marine or automobile grade vinyl? I live just outside Indianapolis. I purchased a yard of marine vinyl to practice on at Joanne Fabrics but, it isn't anything I would use to upholster. On ebay I see lots for 10 bucks a yard or less but was told this isn't real marine grade due to the price alone. Dantwolakes, your work looks like leather not vinyl to me. On youtube I've watch headliners being installed where they wet the material and then use a heat gun to shrink to smooth out the material. Is this a special material used, think I read somewhere it had a cotton backing.
I know real leather is much more expensive but it seems to me the main investment in interior work is the labor and time. I don't like to waste money but I want the end produce to match my time and effort.
Have a great day,
Bob
