Voltage regulator test?

Alright, I'm still working on my '69 Firebird and haven't been able to find anything about this subject in books or on the site.

My battery isn't being re-charged by my alternator. I tested this by taking the live wire off my battery and it starts dieing immediately. I had my alternator tested while I was getting my engine rebuilt and it was said to be alright, so I'm guessing my voltage regulator is bad. Is there any way to test this before I go out and buy a new regulator or alternator?

Thanks,
Danny

either you regulator is bad, or there is a break in your wiring. There is nothing else. I would guess on the regulator, they are cheap enough.

Okay, I replaced my voltage regulator and it's workin. Only 12.7 volts, though, so I may have future problems.
