Vortec 350 gasket ?

Building a vortec 350, I know I need special intake gaskets for a vortec style intake, do they require specific head gaskets also?

No! But different gaskets such as shim or composite/composition have differing thicknesses which affects compression ratio a little so keep up on their thicknesses. Thicker lowers compression, thinner raises it and improves what little squish/quench the factory circular dish piston provides. Shim gaskets like really flat and straight head and deck surfaces, composition gaskets are more tolerant of uneven surfaces.

A standard SBC head gasket works fine. The intake gasket there are several versions, but if you use a aluminum intake such as buy Edelbrock, then get Edelbrock gaskets, or chances are it will not seal and will suck oil in the runners like there`s no tomorrow. I went through three pair before I got the Edelbrock gaskets and the problem was solved. With any aftermarket vortec intake don`t use the stocker replacement gaskets, When I was buying the third set I realized they get expensive fast.
