Question Vortec Conversion For Small Block Chevy

I have a 1976 small block Chevy V-8 and want to install a multi-port injection system (Vortec)on it. I would appreciate any feedback regarding recommendations for this modification--what to watch out for, part numbers or vehicles to get one off of, etc. As you can see I'm starting from page 1 on this so thanks in advance for the help. Regards, Dave K.

find a doner truck with a vortec and it will have all that you need. multi-port is a bit different, to the best of my knowledge which at times is squat but, thats besides the point,a multi-port intake will not fit vortec heads. multi-port set ups first used in the camaro and firebird and usually build low end torque faster than the vortec and for the price of fast burn heads it would make more sense to me to just for get about the vortec heads[unless they were free]and use a good set of fast burn heads that flow 200 cfm though 190 cc runners. your best bet is to find a wrecked camaro are firebird for multi-port or a wrecked 96 or newer chevy pick-up for the vortec for all the required harness and computer components

The multiport FI off of a vortec has the special vortec intake bolt pattern so it would have to be used with the heads. The early vortec heads had a dual pattern to them. AS far has the other you would have to ge the computer from a vortec or an aftr market one and wiring would best be from an after market source that makes harness's for these swaps
