vortec engine swap help
Hi, i have a 1980 GMC sierra 1500 with the stock 305. I am going to put a vortec 350 in it. what wires does the vortec need to run.

Assuming you are taking a carbureted engine out and installing a fuel injected Vortec engine, you would need the complete wire harness, computer and all of the sensors.
If you are just going to run a carburetor, then nothing is different electrically other than needing to run an electric fuel pump since the Vortec block won't have provisions for a mechanical fuel pump.You'll also need to get the correct intake manifold and reuse your distributor.
