Vortec Head Swap

I have a gen 1 sb350 and im very interested from what ive read on the 062 heads. whats roller and whats not on the 96 to 2000 vortec stuff? are the stock rockers roller? lifters? would i make any kind of power increase over my ported 76cc big valve stockers? ported pockets and gasket match THANKS!

comp 256h with 1.6 to 1 rockers

The 96 and up Vortec engines have roller lifters, nothing else is rollerized. The rockers are standard stamped self guiding sled type. The Vortec heads would give you a 40 horse increase over the heads you have.

Vortec swap

40 horse with the same cam? How much power would u expect from my setup? How much more power do you get from roller?

Don't know what kind of power you're going to make, or are now making.

AFA the roller cam making more power, if the cam timing and lift is the same, the roller set-up might make a couple more HP from reduced friction, but otherwise wouldn't be expected to add any power unless the valve timing/lift were increased.

With the factories, it's more a matter of reliability and durability, given the sorry state of affairs concerning the oil additives that have been removed from motor oil that cause flat tappet cams and lifters to wear at an accelerated rate.
