vortec and non vortec swap ??

I have a 96 GMC 2500 with a vortec 350 with a wrist pin knock. A long block 350 vintage 1970 fresh rebuild never fired. Can I swap on the vortec heads, intake system and the acc. from the front end and drop it in?? Will the stock cam in the old 350 be compatible or will the cam from the vortec engine swap into the old block ?? Thanks in advance for any insight you can give me

Pat
