vortec swap help
Hey... I need to get to the machine shop and place my order TODAY!!!! Need some reassurance. They'll do me up some 062 Vortecs with Z28 springs, valve job, pocket port, and gasket match, and throw in a polished Weiand intake for about $600. Is this what I want to do, and throw away my smogger 993's? How much power difference will there be?

Rather than throw on some generic Z28 springs, I'd get the exact ones your cam calls for, and have the heads set up for them. It's a very good possibility you'll see a 30 to 40 hp improvement.
