Vortec Thermostat Housing

I need a straight-up themostat housing for a 5.3 vortec from a 2000 GMC Sierra. Who makes them? I found this pic in the internet and the housing was home made.

I always end up with this one.....it's iron and takes the standard Chevy gasket ......

I got mine at Car Quest Auto Parts ........the #5103.....in their catalog for replacement thermostat housings. It is stock on a mid 80's Chevy Van with a 305.

.

Thanks for your reply. But the Vortec housing is located in the bottom of the water pump and is different than the standard housing.

yeah... the 5.3 vortec housing is on the front of the motor. call your local chevy dealership they'll have one. and if not they can order one for ya. i had to change the thermostat in my 99 5.3 and let me tell ya... i like the top mounted a lot better then those.

and the housing in that pic is probably home made on a CNC out of a block of aluminum....
