you can make a pretty fast/nice VW engine now a days
maybe like a 2400cc dual carbs etc, bus transaxle
you can make a pretty nice bug, for pretty cheap
when I was in younger, I had a couple bugs and a sand rail

i got a 73 super beetle that had a stock 1600 but just had a 1835 put in with a webber 2 barrel and a 110 cam and let me tell you that little thing scoots just tonight i was driving my 2000 v6 camaro and my dad was in my bug and i wasnt hard on the camaro but i wasnt easy and my dad was keepin up pretty good it has amazing take off havent topped it out yet but it gets up to 80 pretty quick once i get some other issues fixed im going to take it to the strip and see what she runs in a 1/4

455 Olds with a Toronado transaxle sounds good to me! No back seat but very fun to drive, a true suicide machine.
