VW bug Shell + Jeep Grand Cherokee Frame

Ok i have a jeep grand Cherokee frame (which Im not lowering or slamming to the ground) and a VW bug shell. Im cutting the front off the Bug and putting the engine there. I would like to keep the trans that is in the jeep in the car, but the engine is toast. I think it'd be cool to also keep the 4 wheel drive. Id really like some help with the engine for i cant figure out if i can use something bigger with this trany. Or if you could give me some tips on what size and type of engine & trans to use thatd be very helpful. Im limited on money and Im a highschool senior. Thank you.

Just a suggestion, buy a tape measure and compare the shell to the frame.

What engine is in the Jeep now?

A Wrangler or CJ frame is probably closer to the VW's wheel base.

I know the frame is going to be bigger than the bug. But whats the fun in building something without problems. Im going to cut the fenders off the bug and maybe cut the bug in half if i have to and make it wider. im still in the deconstruction of the jeep tho so maybe ill find a different shell or frame.

It has the straight 6, 4.0 liter. but its fuel injected. all i need for it to run is a new Cap and Rotor and wires. This engine is just temporary tell i find a 350 small block.

And i was just given the jeep so i figured id try it and see if i can pull everything together. but thank you maybe ill see if i can find a wrangler ot the CJ.
