I think you may just be a pioneer suiciding doors on a vw golf. But I'll bump your post back up. Maybe someone will have some good advice and things to watch for, or just know more about what kind of hinge design the golfs have and have some suggestions. Sorry I can't help you. Suiciding hinges is something I haven't done as of yet. Welcome to Hotrodders.
