Hopefully, this is the right place to post this?
I bought a 3 ton floor jack ( made in China )from Walmart about 8 months ago. After jacking the car up, I started to place the the jack stands under it. The jack made a cracking sound and started dropping...slowly. To make a long story short, I took it back, no sales slip, and low and behold, they gave me a new one!! No hassle of any kind! Reminded me of Sears, in regards, to their craftsman tools. Except, I didnt get a rebuilt jack back but a new one. Atta-boy to Walmart..

If it did it once I would never crawl under a car with the replacement jack either.

yes let me jack up a 4000 pd car with this taiwanese jack made out of recycled honda's and crawl under it headfirst.

I don't crawl under a car that is supported by a jack anyway. Just because it is made in China doesn't make it of poor quality, anymore than it being high quality because it is made un USA. Look at some of the garbage coming out of Detroit now days.

I have 2 jacks and 2 sets of jack stands all from wal-mart why? because thats all i can really afford, I have had NO problems with them yet..i give them a

Bashing Chinese made products is kind of fruitless. Everything is made there now! Just try to find a USA made product!

Jackstands do not make it safe either. I've had cars slip of of a jackstand more than a jack, so I use both.
A big log seems to be the safest thing to hold the car up with.

I quit using hydro jacks because they are always giving me problems. I use bottle jacks now.

I usually have the 2 jackstands on both sides, then a jack almost all the way up to each side of the frame so if a jackstand gives the jack will getch it and give me enough time to get out under neith of the car..

After thinking about what I said, I realize it may have sounded racist. I wish to reassure everyone that I am indeed not that at all. My comment was based on past items that I have purchased that were far from good quality. I also can't help but think that the overall quality of these products use inferior steels and are poorly constructed. However I have no hard facts to back this up and therefore it is only an opinion based solely on my past purchases.
My negative thoughts on these exports are more likely to be influenced on my dislike for China's policies regarding child labor and human rights issues. (not to mention the communist ideology) If North America continues to lose jobs, I'd rather see it go to Mexico or other "Westernized" countries. Anyone else see China becoming the next USSR? I will spend a few more bucks on North American products to keep the jobs at home if I can afford it. I urge people to do the same.

try to find a jack made in the usa?
in my shop i have a huge jack (i think its an eagle or something like that) made in the usa. best damn jack i have ever seen.
it doesnt matter that it was made in the 60's.
