Want to hear a funny one?
All right so on my nova I have a very strange electrical problem. When I put any pressure on the ingnition lock cylinder the horn would go off. And one time I was putting in gauges and had a trouble light inside the car. The cord for the light ran out under the drivers and over the door sill. Well when the door would swing shut and pinch the cord the horn would go off. This is the strangest thing that Ive ever seen. The weird thing is the wiring is all clean and there shouldn't be any trouble. Any way I took the horn out because I never used it any way and its not a big problem. Just wanted to see what you guys think.

My state doesn't do state inspections so no worries there.

You don't have state inspections!?
Man, I'll have to remember to never buy a car from Minnesota. |

All we buy are used cars. Never had any complaints. All you have to do is look them over and you can usually tell which ones are well cared for and the ones that aren't.
As a matter of fact quite a few states don't require inspections. |

Jordan eh? Its pretty nice back there by the fairgrounds. Hey do you know that guy that does exhaust for people? He lives back by the fairgrounds and has done work on a lot of my friends trucks.

hmmm
well considering they have a few new housing devopments back there it would be hard to say since i havn't lived back there for a few yrs as the house burnt down. maybe quatman service if you want a good exhaust system go to stock and customs in shakopee.
when going towards shakopee take the first left at 69? i think it is now and follow that into town, by the rental center and behind the laundrymat is where he is located he does some of the best exhaust around. I go out through belle plain every couple of weeks to collect rent from a house my parants have out in st. thomas. Jesse Larson |

Back to the problem.............................
The wire running up your column to the horn is a grounding wire. It also uses a brass ring and button to connect it to the wheel. Either the wire has worn through somewhere or the brass ring is touching to ground when you move it slightly when putting pressure on the key. Take the wheel off and see if anything is real close to that ring.

Just go ahead and disconnect the horn. Then buy one of those bumper stickers that says "Horn broken, watch for finger".
