Want my back issues of Street Rodder?
I am house cleaning and want to give
my back issues of Street Rodder magazine to someone. They are complete years 1987 though 2002 plus a few individual earlier copies. They are too heavy to mail or UPS but if anyone that lives in upstate NY/New England is interested, let me know and arrangements can be made.I don't want to break these up, but want to "donate" the entire collection of ~200 mags - what the 'donee' does with them is up to him. (You really don't want to know about that complete 285cid full race flathead that is now buried under a parking lot - that's about the only treasure that I wish that I had kept.) Dave |

I sold most of my collection on eBay a few years ago..............It helped finance a trip to Vegas.

I'd rather give them away than go thru the hassle. Dave |

You might want to ask at your local city library or even your local high school library to see if they want the collection. Personally, I think it would be great if you could give access to all that great literature to dozens and dozens of young people.
[added in later edit: If I'm not mistaken, you can also write this type of donation off on your taxes...assuming you are in a tax bracket where that would make sense.]

As far as tax write off - need all I can get, but not sure this would qualify. Dave |

Go to a local car show or cruise in, dump all the mags in your trunk or bed and put up a sign that says "for free". Then watch one after the other bite the dust

Wait a second here......
Did you contact the Auto Shop teacher at the high school? I'll bet HE would want them for his classes. LOTS of tech info. Thats where mine go. Or you could take them to the BOCES up there. |

I have all of mine stored out in my shop in steel filing cabinets.

I've gotten someone elses collection for free, plus I buy about 2-3 mags a month. I stash them all away in my closet on the floor. I have 2 piles, one for the regular mags and one for the ones that have ideas in them I wanna use on the '26 (how to make your own steering column etc.).
