water based undercoating - good idea?

I saw a JC Whitney selling a water based undercoating, 1 gallon - $16.99 (SE126246R). I would like to put this stuff under the car, in wheel wells and frame tubing.

Has anyone had any experience with it? How durable is it?

Thanks!
Denis

Don't do it!
Unless it say "moisture cured urethane" You don't want it.
In short it will remain porous and suck up salt water and oils off the road. That is not what you want undercoating to do.
Don't confuse this with a lot of moisture cured gravel guards out there as it is a different ball game.
Waterborne asphalt is no good for the purpose you want,

Thanks, I was just probing :-)

I searched around here and a few people mentioned the liquid nails from HomeDepot (industrial application) for inside application. Do they sell this product in a can to be applied by brush? Can I 'water' it down with a thinnner? Also 3M and Wurth came up. Any preferences?

Thanks for your input,
Denis
