i dont remeber the brand, but some of our trucks use the older style air dryers and some have the newer spin-on type filter, dryer

Unless your compressor was just worn out or had other mechanical problems causing excessive blow-by, neither of which is likely the culprit, then the combination of cooler temperatures and restricted crankcase ventilation is the likely cause. I have seen this several times and it usually is a very simple fix that costs nothing except a bit of time spent on maintenance.

I finally changed my comp oil yesterday.... all these threads got me to worrying about it...glad I did ,checked all the fittings with soapy water and found a few leaks ,some of them were pretty bad and I finally fixed my drain pitcock,must have had two gallons of water in the tank.I was a little surprised ,it worked fine on my end of the hose..last year I found out your oil needed regular changing and I've been meaning to change it ever since.

check valve leak?

could the check valve have a slow leak allowing moist air from the lines and tank reverse back into the compressor and condense?. How good does the system hold air after you shut it down?

i bought a new quart of non detergent oil last year but i didnt get around changing the oil.
maybee today, i took the rest of the year off to clean up the garage and see if i can find my car out there.

Your system from the comp. out must be darn good. I know you body guy's are terrified of fish eye's which can be contributed to water in the system. Every place I've ever worked that had a comp. always had to be drained daily. I'm surprised you haven't had problems already.

I bought and installed a moisture ejector from HF last year on my air tank so that everytime the compressor cycles it spits out the water from the bottom of the tank . I have to lay on the floor to manually drain the verical 60 gal. tank so this was a good upgrade .

i use these cheap corded big truck air tank drains on the compressor tank so i dont have to stand on my head.
and on the drains on the piping in the corners i cant get to

Hey , I have never seen one of those before . Where did you buy it ? Our trucks at the mine were 240 ton payload (830,000 lb GVW) and had automatic moisture ejectors on the wet tank.

i just got the pic off of ebay i think it was like $11.oo

Thanks . I will check and see if my automatic ejector is keeping my air tank drained and if not I will likely install one of those instead .

Were those trucks Dressers or Cats? We had some serious problems with the air systems on the Dressers but I suppose I am about to get off the topic here, sent you a PM.
