Water pump outlets/inlets

Got a question about the outlet/inlet that has a brass plug in it from the factory. The intake, also factory has a plug directly across from the one in the water pump. If I plumb the second set of outlets/inlets what would the harm be? Would I get more flow?

Thanks

If I red correctly what you are asking those outlets are for heater hoses. Using a SBC as the reference for the answer, and believe no advantage would be accomplished.

The factory does a pretty good job and if the build is primarily a stock build I'd stay with the manufactures design. Are they always perfect no, however unless one is an engineer, no need reinvent the wheel as they say.

The question I would have is why do you want to do this you have a cooling problem you are trying to solve?

Ahha!!! foiled again, I wasnt thinking about the heater core, its been nice an dwarm lately and no need for aheater, I also havnt driven the truck in about 2 months....at any rate the engine is a BB 454 and in the pictures there is actually a brass plug that went into the left side outlet/inlet on the old water pump.

I can also see where the heater core as small as it may be acting as a smaller radiator, I have had to turn the heater to hi in other vehichles to help cool them down during a fit of over heating.....

Thanks Guys
