Way to check the rear end gear ratio...........
My dad told me a way he has checked rear end ratios - put the rear of the car on jackstands, put it in neutral, mark the tire and driveshaft. Then watch the driveshaft while making 1 full rotation of the tire. I did this, and my driveshaft went around 1.7 times (couldn't be a 1.7 rear end......) Am I missing something? Am I supposed to multiply that number by 2 (would make a 3.42, makes more sense). Please let me know....
