I have a 1981 Pontiac firebird and some of my weather striping is gone and I don't know what it is call. It's the strip that goes in the door between the door and the window thanks

It's different on different cars but on the older cars it's referred to as "cat whiskers" or "fuzzie strips"

In '81 depending on the model it may have had a rubber with felt.

If the seals (I call them anti-rattle strips) aren't there, you'll get more water running into the door but it shouldn't get inside the car. The water should run out the drain hole(s) in the door to the outside.

Water could be coming in around the doors. How are the door gaskets? Another prime suspect is the windshield. Look under the dash for rust or water. You can get the floor as dry as possible and have someone put a hose to the different areas that could admit water, while you try to spot where it is coming in. Start low and work your way up to pinpoint the leak. There are other places you could get water in but that's a start.

Then it's most likely the water is coming through the door gaskets. Or you might have rust holes in the floor.

I just figured i would ask but does this car have t-tops or a sunroof, they are known for leaking in the area you have mentioned. Or even right on your lap as your driving. LOL!!
