Post weight differences?

i was wondering what the weight difference is between a gm 4 cyl and a 305. the reason for my asking is that our 140 horse boat motor is taking a poop and it doesnt look like much difference but a L69 would be much more fun than a 4 cylinder. ted

Not sure what a 4cyl.weighs but the small block chev. weighs approximate 500-600 lbs.I would guess the 4 cyl.about 350 lbs.

You didnt specify what your boat is and whether or not it will accept the dimensions of the 305. with what I know about boats (not a lot) your first concern should be HP vs LBS. I think that I would be lookin for an S-10 to donate a TBI 2.5. in stock trim the 2.5 and the 305 will produce similar HP and the 2.5 should weigh about half that of the 305.....happy boatin
