Welding exhaust piping

What's an adequate amp/volt needed for a mig welder to weld exhaust piping easily. Specifically aluminized 16 gauge and a higher gauge.

Depends on welder size(capacity) and wire size, gas or no gas.

nongas, .6-.8mm wire width

or non gas 115 volt, 90 amp max, 0.035'' or 0.030'' wire capacity, flux core wire

I use oxy/acetylene on header construction. Give a lot more control and cleaner looking job. Also, remember to run a brazing fillet around the tube/flange joints. Improves strength, quietness and extends the life of the header.

Do not buy a 120v MIG machine, you will soon wish you had purchased a 230v one instead.

Lincoin makes and excellent 120V welder. I got a welder with the gas option and cart used for $325. Watch the papers for a used one or get a new one and build your cart.
