Welding machine

An working on converting a 4-wheeler motorcycle (using the suspension only) into a electric two-seater hotrod lookalike.
My 140 cheapo Chinese DC welder does not quite do the job, and I want to modify a 24v 100A alterrnator to work as a MIG unit. Is this possible???

MIG or TIG? There are several Alternator/TIG conversations on the net if you Google it and there is even one here on this site if you will search. Building a MIG however is just not practical, certainly possible but it would surely be a daunting task that that would likely cost more than just buying a small MIG.

MIG / Tig welder

I really meant to ask about a TIG welder, but somehow my fingers/mind slipped and it came out as a Mig. Sorry. will Google some info on alternators, and see what I can find. Keeping in mind that in my neck of the woods (South Africa) we are somewhat limited in what is available.
