welding panels

i welded a roof patch on my car and i lap welded with piece of sheetmetal underneath and the patch had 3/8 holes drilled an inch apart on both sides then i welded the seam up not solid but pretty close only some very small spots that are not welded. I have very small metal deflection and heat shrinkage. I will have to use some body filler but i have been told thats normal. I have never done this kind of repair give me some feed back.

I've never done that kind of repair either but it looks good to me. If you don't go to thick with the bondo it should be ok. Hopefully one of the smart guys can see this and help you.
