Welding on Rearend Housing

Hi,
I have to weld brackets onto the axle tubes.
Any tips on how to keep tubes from warping?
Thanks, Barry

Weld in 1" increments. moving to another area on opposite side/end between weld times, If the housing gets too hot to handle in the general weld area. Let it cool. Then weld

I agree with the post above -- break up the bead and let it cool -

If it does warp, you can weld a bead on the opposite side of the tube and pull it back some.

Later, mikey
