Our weekly Cruise Night started again a couple of weeks ago and runs throughout the summer. I have been going 2 or 3 Friday nights a month for the past few years. I also participate in other car shows from time to time.
I am lucky enough to have a few custom and modified cars. On occasion I take my prowler to these events. The car has a classic hot rod style flame paint job and a few other mild appearance and performance mods like exhaust and gears.
Sometimes I catch flack because "...a Prowler is not a hot rod." People go on about it and one even told me I did not belong at an event and that I should leave.
But I never said it was a hot rod. It's just a cool car.
What do you think I should tell 'em next time this happens, and it will...

Keep a propane torch in the car and a 18 inch piece of 1" round stock and when you see one of these bozos bring him round back and ask him to check this out. Heat the rod to a nice cherry red at the tip and insert it up his backside, then ask him if that is a hotrod.

Somehow I think he will change his tune and agree with anything you say...in a voice two octaves higher than normal. :p

Umm, I see you changed the paint, any other customizating (lol customizing, had to leave the origional) done? Well then, IT IS A HOTROD. Just an expensive one, that I would like the keys to.

You got that right its one cool car. If I had the bucks I wouldn't mind one. Sure it belongs at shows, I'd have a look if it were at a show. And I probably tell the retard who said it doesn't belong, where exactly he belongs. Its a hot rod no doubt.
There are those cars that go to shows which don't belong, like this guy here who shows his '98
Camaro (bone stock, no special options) but I'd never tell him to go away. I just won't be having a look.
Don't them Prowlers come with 6's? Its a hot rod but maybe its short on two cylinders!

Ditto on the 98 bone stock Camaro.

Yeah the prowler has a V-6. (Bummer) But at least it is 253 HP and 24 valve. The car is 2800 lbs and with the transaxle gear swap I did it can run low 14's which is not great but still OK for cruising.
If it wasn't for the smog check I'd put a Paxton on it...

A limited production run car that is modified? Maybe you should just paint "HOTROD" down the side of it and the idiot will get it.

These events are called Cruise-in's not hot-rod-in's anyway. I for one think there is room for exotic cars and Rice and stockers and pro-street and flathead rods, street rods, muscle cars and PU trucks, even Corvette's, did I miss anybody? Not everybody likes what I drive, SO What? A lot of these people just walk around bothering other people about their rides. When I don't like what I see on another guys/gals ride I keep it to my self, not go hunt him/her down and make an *** of myself! I love this Hobby but we do draw a few fools to us.
