Sam....do yourself a big favor and save your money, but good wet paper and do it all by hand. When you use a machine, you have the chance you may burn through the clear, especially on the peaks of the body. Most all body shops I know even sand the clear by hand. I use a spray bottle with a squeegee. Sand and wipe the water away with the squeegee, that will show you exactly how your sanding is going. The clear will be all dull, that's the look you're going for.
