What 9" case do I have and is it worth rebuilding?

After doing some research I still can't figure out what I have. Because it's a double rib I think it may be worth rebuilding.

Outer markings are just a "DIF" on one side and an "8" on the other. The date, I think, is "6L29" which I think means 1966, December 29. I don't see any N inside or out.

Obviously I need a new locker carrier and I may as well do new bearings and seals but don't know if I should just bite the bullet and find the bucks to start completely over or use this case once again.

Looks like a 9-3/8" rear end to me from a mid-60's Lincoln.

63-77 Lincoln, LTD, Thunderbirds had 9 3/8" centers, housings were cut
away at the gasket surface for ring gear clearance, one curved rib
at the front top portion of differential, strong but no gears

I have one of these orphans with 4.09 gears and a trac-loc.

That sure looks like it. Many thanks for the quick response. This one has/had an EquiLock with 2.80 gears. It was in the Torino I'm trying to get running. The previous owner cut out the housing with a torch, obviously to get this thing to fit. While I don't like the cuts I pretty much need to keep the original housing so I think it'll be OK when I run a bead of weld around where the cuts are and then dress em up.

Well, I guess it's time to start over from scratch with a real 9 incher. Let's see, with scrap iron running about $.01 a pound this thing could get me about six bits... Could make a good boat anchor too.. ;-)
