What is the best source and price for flap disks?
I've been buying at Home Depot for about $5.45 per disk for a 4.5" 60 or 80 grit.
I saw some plastic core flappers at my welding supply store for less money but haven't tried them. Who has an opinion on what is the best price for the best quality (long lasting) disk? Thanks! |

I've used Pferd brand, usually sold in welding supply houses, and they hold up good.
More recently I'm using Klingspor. They have the plastic cored ones that are good and they also have a system where you put an adapter on your grinder and the flapdisc itself attaches to the adapter with twist lock lugs. Works good and saves money since you're not buying the center section of the disc every time. http://klingspor.com/products/cmtvideo.htm has a video and info on the quick change discs. Direct ordering info on their site as well. |

Best bet i have found for any of those consumables is an industrial supplier that has the boxes of 50 or for that matter the large sleeves of sandpaper and other shop items..much better deal and you are not so likely to run out on the weekend.

I have been using these guys - http://stores.ebay.com/Benchmark-Abrasives-and-Tools - they generally have good prices and fill orders quickly. About $2.00 in lots of 10 and $1.50 in lots of 100 up. Their stripping discs are pretty decent as well.
