what is the best way for my merc

ok i just got a 1994 mercury grand marquis i am wanting to do mods to it but there is no aftermarket support for because the engine is the older 4.6 and that but i want more power out of it so i am thinking that i want to change the whole shebang i want either a ford engine i know if i do a ford engine that i can possibly use stuff from the mustang like 302 and trans or i could go older and get carbed but i want to keep fuelinjection my other route would be chevy engine or olds engine i know this route i would have to go carbed but i wouldnt mind if i had to but also cost is key here i have a 350 i will probably go through and put new gaskets and rings bearings and all and i may have a 700r4 what all would i have to do to do this this is my future project had to get rid of my nova to get a bigger car since i have another baby on the way, any info would be great thanks

You're a family man with a new baby on the way......leave the car alone. You could do a few things like headers, exhaust, air filter and rear end gears for better acceleration. The last thing on earth you want to do is put a 350 Chevy in there, waaaay too much work and will ruin any type of resale value.

I know but I may have to replace the engine any ways it burns oil and runs like a crap I already have to put in a new trans I was wanting to try an older ford engine with an aod

Id go with a 4 valve 4.6, but if youre set on an older motor, go with a EFI 302 HO or 351 EFI.
