What can I rip a 350 out of?

Hi, I want to learn about engine by well rebuilding one, I want ot start simple so I thought of just getting a 350 SBC any suggestion on what I could get one out of at the salvage yard?

The yard usually has them removed. Just pick one and go crazy!

Well, you have a lot of options. Depends on how tight your budget is. You could buy an old chevy truck where the engine is still running. Who cares how bad the body is or anything else. If you just want the engine and you can get a wrecked one that'd be great. The chevy 350 is great to rebuild because there are so many aftermarket parts available. One thing I have learned is patience. You might have to look around a lot untill you find one at the price you want. Junkyard are a great resource but often they good engines are gone. Look in the paper classifieds and post a wanted add. What I would do is when you see an old car standing somewhere (in the field or behind a shed, garage etc.) that looks rusty, I'd ask if it's for sale. Sometimes you get great deals outta that. Look, look, look around.
