65.3cc COMBUSTION CHAMBER
1.94" INTAKE 1.50" EXHAUST VALVE
"THIS CYLINDER HEAD IS NOT A PERFORMANCE ORIENTED CYLINDER HEAD. IT IS CLASSIFIED AS A HIGH SWIRL HEAD THAT WAS INTENDED FOR GOOD BOTTOM END TORQUE AND FUEL ECONOMY. THE INTAKE RUNNER IS RESTRICTIVE BECCAUSE IT HAS A RAMP CAST INTO THE BOTTOM OF THE BOWL TO PROMOTE HIGH SWIRL."

They are the "TBI" heads, as stated above, great for low end and fuel economy. For what they were designed for they worked pretty well, otherwise forget it. Some of the truck guys have ported them and reported fair results in improving performance up to 5500 but that is a lot of work when there are much better performance heads available "ready to run".

Thanks !

I have 2 sets of these heads, not sure if I should go back stock or build a 383 tbi or build a 383 carb engine.

If I swap out the factory tbi for a carb and ***** can the computer
will my tranny still shift (its a auto trannny) ? (its a stock 87 1/2
ton suburban drive train) does the computer control the tranny shifting ?
does the computer lock up or control the torq converter ?

can I ***** can the computer with out causing other problems ?

(I'm lookin 4 more HP & TQ) my motor is hanging on my motor
stand now. if i build a mild 383 with a touch more compression & cam, plus
headers and 2 1/4 dual exhaust, will my computer still be happy ? or can I
make it happy ? reprogram it ?

does the computer control the tranny shifting ? does the computer lock up or control the torq converter ?

if I go carb can I use the original tank pump with a regulator ?

14102193 heads

Hi, out there. I am new to this board am have a question.

Are the 14102193 heads good for towing? I do not really care as much about HP as I to TQ. I have a stock 88' 350 with a manual four speed including the granny gear. I am planning to put in an nv5600. Will this comb help me TQ? I think I might also chance the stock came to a stage 1 RV. If any one has any input, I am all ears. I can't spent allot of money and am looking for a low budget to rebuild the engine so it will pull my 32' trailer.

Thanks for any input

Not totally positive but........I don't think the tranny was computer controlled until the early to mid ninties...so you should be OK.
