What company besides ididit ...carries stock internals for the mid late 70s GM van tilt steering column.I have 4 of them and want to rebuild one for this 55 chev i am doing, btw excact fit in 55. i need levers- knobs-any and all things SMALL that go in the head? I had parts catalog for this stuff .....but not anymore. Any help is greatly appreciated bob s
I can't go out fumbling around in the salvage yard yet, Bad knee problem found and really crippling me up, at this point. Here is a picture of the "harness" piece i need, found on late 70s pickup i am sure. If you have one laying around .please share with me what you want for it. thanks as usual for looking bob s
Everything i looked at under those rock auto links, are still curved plug on the column side.and won't fit a flat plug end containing the stock harness . WHAT is the deal i have everybody in a knot. i think, female curved plug adaptor out to the harness bob s
My TS switch works fine so i don't need a new one yet.
That's the adapter I posted above, that the OP is NOT looking for. He needs the inverse of that one, with the female curved connector. In fact, all the links you posted are the exact same (incorrect) adapter.
The OP needs to fit an EARLY switch that already has the curved connector to a later dash harness with the straight connector. Again, that's the inverse of the adapter you linked.
for part numbers as you did not describe what you need exactly..
P series used that column with the key on the dashboard thru the late 80s.. this also means you can hit junk yards truck sections and if there are any old catering trucks or P vans there..
here is the steering wheel and stuff above the first section.
oh... and don't think that you cannot just use the part numbers at GM.. google them.
there used to be a place over near crosley called new parts or something like that.. they managed to have an awsome assortment of gm steering column stuff. . but they went BK probably 10 years or more ago.. saginaw division makes steering column parts for GM and many other manufacturers.
On this tilt column parts, I now have it figured out what i am doing. BUTTT.....Question arises unless i am in the wrong pew here. I am now seeking somebody who will look thru there {van column" parts. I need the short slim ....snap on ....wire loom cover Tin and half round with 4 clips that snap in the corresponding 4 holes in the bottom of the VAN columnIf you have or know of somewhere i can get one. It would be great. thanks much bob s
