my 79 LB 2wd came in at 42xx with 2 tanks of fuel

An easy way to get curb weight is to
subtract the payload from the GVW

That year there were 3 different GVW 1/2 tons
4900-------3-4 leafs on rear springs----would have been shipped with G or H 78-15 tires

5600-------7 leafs on rear---no stabilizers --- standard brakes L-78-15

6100-------7 leafs---front stabilizer---HD front and rear brakes (rotors were thicker than the other trucks)

The 4900 trucks had very small payload capacity----around 500-600lb
5600 were closer to 1000lb

6100 could handle a 8-1/2ft cabover camper with no real issues.

ALL 4x4 trucks long and short had the 6100GVW
