Well it was a nice weekend here and I spent most of Sat working at my real job this Sunday working in the yard getting the gardens and lawn ready for winter. I did research my transmission super t10, and figured its a 1977 which is stamped on the casting and the vin number says it also. I believe its out of a Pontiac and has a first gear of 2:64 or 2:43 . Now I am trying to figure what is my best ring and pinion ratio. I have a 72 nova gm 10 bolt , 8.5 ring gear and want to install a Eaton posi unit and new axles (moser). Not sure what to use but I am leaning toward 3:73 or 3:55's.
If anybody has any experience with this please let me know. The motor is a sbc about 400hp in a 2000lb car. thx sc
