Clear coat will work great on the polished aluminum. I got tired of trying to keep the intake scoop looking good on my T-bucket. So finally wet sanded it with 2000 grit and clear coated it, six coats from an aerosol can. Wet sanded it again with 2000 grit and buffed it out, Now it always looks good.
