Yup its an esprit with the "sky bird" package. I don't think I could ever drive a baby blue car though! I want to pain it a dark red, its currently black but very ugly and faded. Its amazing how thin the factory paint is. It takes a a few seconds to sand through the black and primer but the blue just comes off before you can even notice it there.

battery work

The only thing I did this weekend was to install a new Optima battery in my rumble seat area. Bolted a billet al battery holder to the floor, stuck the battery in and good to go. Took about an hour. Now I'm back to painting my house the rest of the week.

Got back from the NSRA Nationals yesterday and could not weight to modify the servo motor on my Adler sewing machine. It worked out well and has improved the control of the machine immensely. Let's see there must be something around here I need to sew.

The Pontiac Skybird was a package tacked on to the Pontiac Firebird Espire in 1977. Basicly stripes ,wheels, paint and upholstery. Limited numbers, In 1978 Pontiac brought out the Yellow bird. in 1979 they brought out the Red Bird.

http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/atta...&d=13445645366

I don't know why but my Grandson calls the engines on the stands robots!!!!!!LOL I keep telling him their engines and he keeps saying no robots!!!!!!!!

http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/atta...1&d=1344565275 http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/atta...1&d=1344565275

I ordered the push rods measured from the bottom of the cup to the tip of the ball and they made them with my measurments to overall length so they are a little short About 1/8 of an inch!!! That's the problem with phone orders!!! But they should be ok for this engine! I usually keep it to 3 threads on the adjuster under the rocker but its showing 6
But the 360 is just a little over stock and there is only 100# valve closed spring pressure !

I just spent the last week on vacation seeing my grand daughter more than I had every visit added up for her entire life. It was SO NICE to be there with my kids and her. Now it's back to work tomorrow, CRAP. This making a living gets in the way of all the good stuff.

What did I do today? I came to the realization that I need more security on my garage. Starting with the window that faces my neighbor. This great neighbor of 10 years has moved and will be putting this house up for rent. The real bummer is the houses are very close with a shared driveway and my garage is the "fence" as it is built on the properly line. It has a window and I figured I really needed to put bars on it, not so much for theft but that was certainly in my head too but for a ball hitting it or something and breaking the glass.

So I was starting the project and in looking for metal to make it (ended up having to go buy all of it) I came across a security door that I use to have up on the man door on the side of the garage. I was going to toss it a while ago and I am glad I didn't. Something hit me, first off I have a lot of money in tools in there. But what really made me put that security door back up and go ahead and make the bars for the window was the thought of some scum going in there and vandalizing my car! That is what the CRAP SCUM would do, he would break in there to steal something and then on the way out take a nail to the car or some crap like that. The thought of that real put a fire under me to get it more secure. I live in a pretty nice neighborhood but that doesn't mean that the scum don't "commute" from the ghetto.

Anyway, I made the bars and got them primed and painted and will put them up tomorrow.

Brian
