today more rust repair

finished cutting off the bottom of my RH rear quarter

I have the rocker roughed in, so now I have a reference point for the quarters' repair panel

I cut a little at a time, on both the rusty stuff that is coming off, and fitting the new piece

while the area was open, I cleaned it up and added a doubler to the back side of the door jam,
(because I am going to move the body mount to that spot)

still have more to go, try again tomorrow

I came home very tired tonight but still got out there and put the door glass in my drivers door. Amazing how much easier it was after reading the GM Manual!

I did a little more on the Bonneville,, the tail light lenses were pretty shabby, and there are no replacements available, so I made my own

some red plastic from Tap plastics, and a piece of parabolic prisum plastic ( its the plastic covers that are in most floresent light fixtures,,it has the fishured prisums on one side to reflect the light, and a smooth side , you glue the smooth side to the back side of the red lense..
if I would have cut old the red lense off the body of the light, I wouldn't have had anything to glue the new lense to ,, so I just glued the new lense to the old one,, after cleaning it up as good as I could,,
now before I install them I will give them a little shot of the dark lense spray, to kinda match the new windows,,,
also found a new windshield, locally, and much cheaper than from OPGI 185$ delivered,, OPGI was 285 + freight from calif,, got that done also,,
its getting there slowly

I was about 15'' off the ground on that shot.. I wasn't on my head.. But I was on my knee's..

I spent the weekend in the Riviera ,it was extermly hot ...
Today I'm working on getting it running so the windows go down and putting tires on it...
The old lady did say if I brought any more cars home I be living in it ...
I didnt think she was serious......

Got home from work & I had promised myself I would put up three more blinds in the family room. (Keep the peace kinda thing! If my better half ain't happy, I ain't gonna be happy). Brought some cardboard home to make templates for the floor on the 33 Ply. Not enough time to start on anything else after that so I just posted some pics into my journal of the project I put on hold for this winter so I can do some of the mods on the Ply.

A Comet with a T-Bolt scoop....... What engine are you putting in it? It'll have to be a 289-302 era small block, maybe a 351W, but if you want anything bigger, you will have to relocate/modify the shock towers.

Is it a Caliente or a Cyclone?

I got my RH quarter repair panel modified and put on

I ended up splitting the back side at the fender bead, because of the cuts/fitting already made at door jam

it worked out OK because the bead/roll bodyline at the fender was bigger/rounder then the repair panel, so I was able to fix that at the same time

I cheated and made a doubler for the back side (kinda like putting a flange on it)

Hello CometCyclone: It's an original 4sp Cyclone I found in Tennessee about 11 years ago, body only but in pretty decent shape. It took me 9+ years before I started to work on it. I posted a little more about it in my journal. I have always liked the style & there are not too many around, so it appeals to me for something out of the ordinary.
