Very cool, You are a star. Don't expect your words to be repeated as you said them, it is amazing when you see how the non car guys will put stuff in a magazine or newspaper, wow, it's like they didn't hear a word told to them.

That is a damn nice looking truck, I like them and that one looks to be in excellent shape.

Yep! You're right. It was posted on Oregonlive.com and he got close, but some errors on the year, the engine, etc. He wanted to know how the name came about and I explained the SBC being referred to as a "mouse motor", and the 327 being used in Corvettes. That morphed into it being a small Chevrolet Corvette engine in his posting. Still didn't miss by a lot. My neighbor's little blue '49 Austin got some press, and his faux injector stacks became real mechanical injection too!

Yeah, what I love is when even in a car oriented magazine like Street Rodder they will make a mistake that is right there in the photo, coil sprung rear end called "coil overs" and there are not coil overs in the photo!

I think you got off pretty good, nice little ink.

The guys there will spend a half hour looking up a two dollar light bulb to go in my front directional. Even had to make a phone call. Great bunch of guys down there. I walk in the door and say: "I need another part for the hot rod ." and they are happy to help, and even thank me for coming in.
The parts store I go to is pretty much like that. They WILL make it happen.

I feel the same way VIP is the worse around here and Autozone is a close second, if its not a catalog part number they aren't much help. NAPA guys will try to find a match and there are actually street rodders who work at the store and understand. SC

weekend work

Just finished putting in Aluminum panels in my rumble seat area to cover gas tank and wheel wells. Pretty happy with it. I polished the panels with a scotch bright pad on my small air cut off tool. Not sure if I need to spray some sort of clear on the panels or not. Kind of a pain in the butt if I had to polish them again. SC

Yesterday was taken up hosting and emcee-ing a memorial for a friend

Today was sweeping up, and cleaning up an area in my shop so I can do some welding practice.

Various people have told me that welding is stronger than Duct Tape - but that has never been the case for my welding, so I gotta get some practice on some scrap and see......

Thanks Brian. My buddy bought it new in 1988 and took great care of it untill he parked it then mother nature took over. But, I plan on redoing the interior as well as the motor swap. Heck, if this physical therapy keeps workin for me I may give the paint a try, lol.

Just got home from the Roadster Show, and my little backyard built Austin gasser won "Best in Class" for the Nostalgia class at the show! Pretty pumped, as I didn't think it had a chance in a class with so many cars in it, and not being built in a fancy garage, or shop!
