Got my hood buck done, painted with gloss orange rattle can to better check the shape.
Ended the day with a zip cut and hammer to the buck.... Last edited by 123pugsy; 02-12-2012 at 05:06 AM. |

The shape was whacked. I wanted a pointier snout on the hood but the transition with the radius tighter to the front and changing to a larger radius two feet back looked wrong so I have some adjusting to do. Been at it all day and not even one side adjusted yet...grrrrrr........ ![]() In the pic below, you can see how the light reflection is following thru the radius properly. The shape I had yesterday was not like this. |

I worked on some visualization for my overall concept. Lowered, skirted, and wishing for the whole ball of wax, possibly shaved and chopped....Anyone been ambitious enough to chop a 4 door??
Oh and I've been laughing at my daughters looking through my parts catalogs and hot rod mags.......the things kids come up with!!

Yep. Found a big issue. I got half almost done on the fix up. I will use a half buck to make the panels. Just have to flip the flexible pattern inside out to do the opposite side. |
