I had it on my tool box to put in the car and walked away to do something else and forgot it.

Of all the things I've lost in life, I miss my memory the most.

I'll try to do better in 2 weeks when I go to BTTF...

Spent Sat. morning at a local cruise for a local tech school. Then came home and dove back into my Austin gasser to solve the issues I'm having on the new 355 SBC. After checking cam lift with my dial indicator I fired it up, and noticed the rockers weren't oiling like I'm used to on a SBC. With 45 lbs. of pressure at idle, it should have thrown oil everywhere. I began loosening the rockers and waiting to hear the clack of too much lash. A full 2 turns on every rocker before they began to make noise!! I took each down until the rocker noise went away, and gave them another 1/4 turn. The engine rpm went up 300-400 rpm's, and oil was everywhere, as it should have been!
I've finally got my dull firing sound gone, and the engine sounds like a brand new engine ought to sound! Taking it out for a long run today to confirm it's all tuned well, but I'm sure it is now.

Nope, it was at "Warhoops" until '88. Famous Detroit-area junkyard Warhoops sold | Hemmings Daily

That car along with three other concept cars was found at Warhoops 25 or so years ago and they are all in the Joe Bortz collection (he sold the Cad).

Google warhoops La Salle II warhoops la Salle II - Google Search and you will see many photos of the car there, exactly as the photo that was sent to you. There is only one, someone could have made a copy sure, but the photo you have is of the original.

Here's another couple of shots sitting in the same spot.

Here is a great page on Bortz. Bortz LaSalle Restoration

Now if someone sends you an email like that with a photo of THIS car sitting in wrecking yard like that, don't wait to ask the wife, fill up the tank of a truck with a car trailer and head off to the location!

That is the "Waldorf Nomad" and was said to have been destroyed soon after the '54 Motorama as were those other cars! They were found, the Waldorf Nomad never was. Does it exist, we can only hope!

As I had mentioned, back while I was at the Good-Guys run, I bought a new in the box Binks model 26 gun that a gentlman had in the swap meet.

The model 26 is a small gun that the spec sheet says has a 7 inch fan. It did not come with a cup but had the fluid input fitting for a large quart cup. I ordered an adapter that would go from 3/8 nps to 1/4 nps so I could use a 8 oz touch up gun cup.

I just found a new NOS Binks 81-570 1 pint cup on EBay for 39.00 with free shipping.

This should make a great touch up gun or a jam gun and I am excited to get it. Now if I just had door jams.

John
