The P.O. of my '62 Fairlane, had some speaker boxes in the rear floor board that I moved to the package tray so my passengers didn't have to straddle them. I have hated them there ever since I put them there so I yanked the package tray out and found two nice speakers mounted in the frame work. The vinyl covering had come loose as well so I dumped the speaker boxes and decided to recover the tray and use what was in there. Not perfect but 400% better than before IMHO.

Next step is to hook the speakers up correctly and than make some sound dampener boxes to go behind them so the noise won't bother my spare tire.

Looks much better, and you don't have those 5 lb projectiles in case of an accident,

post a picture of the Fairlane I had a 62 with a 221 v8 it is the only one I remember with that engine most were 6 or 260
they were yellow the 260 was red and 289 blue exept Hi Po they were black with Gold valve covers and Air filter housing some hi po had chrome,

Later I think all were blue

I think this is right to many years ago LOL

The speakers will work better pointed up towards the rear window, and look 1000% better than those boxes! Nice job on the covering too!

I hooked up the tow bar today, and ran around the neighborhood. Once I felt it was working well, I did 5-6 miles on the freeway, and it worked great! It's very hard to tell the car is even back there, except when you begin to slow down. Tracks beautifully, and no strange shimmy, or movement, like I get with a car and car trailer.
After I got home I dug out my wrinkle walls and drilled and screwed the beads to the rims inside and out. Then did a quick check on the engine, as I've had a low speed miss recently. Not sure how it happened, or why it wasn't worse. but found #4 plug wire was nearly broken in two inside the heat sleeve when I pulled it off the plug! I slid the sleeve back, and maybe 1/3 of the insulation was holding it together. The MDS box must have been jumping the gap, and firing at higher rpm's. Replaced it with a spare used plug wire, and will order a better set of wires after the drags.

Well, this one is "Boring" antique white but a solid little car. The only rust was on the passenger floor pan from a leaking heater core and it's been fixed correctly. It has a 289 and I've put a new 2bbl, dual Flowmasters, Cragar SS, custom shroud, fan, thermostat and HEI wires since I've owned it (little over a year). Front bumper is at Airline Plating being chromed and then I'm gonna stop $$$$$$ for a while.

I'm testing some camera brackets for action cams. A friend works for Bracketron, and gave me several window, rollbar, and rare earth magnetic brackets to try. So I'm going to be taking videos from inside and out side the car when I make passes, so they'll have them for their use in advertising. Once I'm back home I'll upload them to youtube and post the links here.

Yeah, It just took a tree and a power pull down about 1/2 mile from the house.

Be safe.

Helped load the complete drive line out of the convertible and the eng/trans out of the hard top and they are on their way to the Chicago area. I hope they live on in some form or other in the future,

The gentleman who bought them is restoring a 51 Convertible and wants a full oil pressure engine with a powerglide that has kick down and a 3:55 rear. He wants the engine bay to look original so this should be perfect for him. Late model mechanics with early style head and valve cover. Gosh, I hope it works out well for him.
