Well tonight was mostly a gathering my wits night looking at the top and planning out my next step. I found that I had forgotten to put a little piece of foam that when here in the irons. It had one there when I took it apart with the other missing and I forgot all about it. I found that a little piece of trunk rubber I had worked perfectly! That was pretty cool, it works probably better than what was there from the factory.



I put this piece in thru the loop of fabric that then goes into the second bow and screws in. I have no idea what it is called as the body manual doesn't even mention it in the MANY pages of the top assembly.



I got something done, a few parts and a little more demystifying and I moved a few steps forward.

I don't know how I missed that Pugs. I usually follow this thread pretty closely. I envy you. That would have to be a ball, not to mention an education. Welcome home. I will keep my fingers crossed that your hood fits.

We need to talk someone into doing one in Atlanta. Maybe we could get them to give a scholarship to the people who have the most low dollar home built tools.

No scholorship, maybe a bucket of vitamins and energy drinks. The low buck tools will work, just take longer and require more muscle power.

Just got back into town. Got to unload the truck and drop the hood on the car.

EDIT: There's a meet not far from there. It's in Huntsville Alabama.

Got my fingers and toes crossed Pugs. Atlanta is about 1/2 way between me and DeadBodyMan. I know he and I both would love to attend a meet. Bending a piece of sheet metal is one thing but being able to form it into a new shape is just plain awesome.

Mike and I are members of Allmetalshaping already. Maybe you ought to sign up and get to the meet. You won't be disappointed.

BTW, your wheel looks just fine to me.

It looks to me like you have a hood Pugsy. I know you are anctious to do the final tweaking. It looks to me like it is going to work out great.

Looks great Puggs...I noticed in your first pic that you may be toying around with the idea of widening of the rear fenders also..

Widening the fenders is in the plans. I wasn't 100% sure until I found getting the wheel on and off to be a pain so they're going 2" at the back to about 1/2'' at the front.
