That old saying that you get what you pay for applies.I have found Martin Senior Super Glamor clear works great, right out of the gun looks like it has been buffed. But the question is what are you doing with it?Show cars, restorations or just everyday body shop jobs?

Nothing wrong with DuPont and it is about the same price as PPG though the DuPont Nason value brand. IMHO, needs some help.

Many of us here like the SPI Universal clear

SPI Universal is the best spraying and user friendly clear I have ever used.
I used PPG Concept 2020 a few years I would occasionally get solvent pop even waiting between coats. Could have been my fault though.

Never had a problem with Universal.

The Martin senour tc732 high speed clear lays down great, just make sure your mix is correct for the temp your spaying at, also I use sata gun's.

I've been learning to shoot the Envirobase "oneVisit" clear.
First a drop coat or mist coat, then a one minute flash time , then 2 full wet coats wet on wet spraying it how you want it to look all in one visit to the booth.
The idea is less time running the fans, lights, heat etc. let alone opening and closing the door stirring up dust...

Takes a little getting used to but after a few projects I'm enjoying the absence of waiting between coats and hanging some mills on there that surprisingly don't run off

If it isn't at your panit store/jobber yet it soon will be

you can go to SPI website and find out all you need to know.

Best of luck,no matter which clear you choose.

as a painter you have to take control of whatever clear or base you use, dont let it control you

As a shop owner and a painter I know both sides of that deal. You want the best quality product you can get at the lowest price.Mostly I've used dupont chroma clear for quite a few years until I found SPI .Now I wont use anything else. Its a 1:1 ratio and costs about 100.00 for each part so you get two sprayable gallons for aprx.200.00 It reminds me of Glasurat in many ways.If your doing show cars you'll love how it buffs that alone will have you sold..Your boss will love it too...Its cheap enough to use for everyday work too....
The black job is SPI over Chromabase and the red job is SPI over nason ful-base...(the cheap stuff)

i can speed it up or i can slow it down and no matter what i can always spray it the same time after time,

very hard to make Run and lays like glass for me.

i sprayed it over PPG DBC base for a while till i quite them and went with Pro-spray never gonna look back

love Pro-spray Base as well, color matches far exceed anything ive ever used and i have used a lot.....
