What do your cars sound like?

It was cloudy today and drizzly but I needed to sweep the Garage and spruce up so I pulled the car out and let it run to warm up! And my daughter took this with a phone ( Wow with a phone:eek:) Who would guess Movies on a phone! She put it on u tube( embarrassing the cars not done) The picture and sound aren't great! But it made me think what do your cars sound like? It would be cool to hear em:P

And the answer is no :nono:! Its not a thumper cam, Its an old General Kinetiks from My old B-Gasser I covered in grease in 1973 and wrapped in newspaper and put away till 3 years ago and installed it in the 302 (a De-stroked 350 )!

I don't know I'm always in the car at 5000 driving! LOL and just reving it to 5000 isnt the same without the load on it! But everyone else says it sounds wicked uncapped at 7,000+ rpm at the strip! On the street its caped and flowing through Summit welded racing mufflers! When I open the dumps the exhaust is flowing mostly out the 18" x 3" dumps but some still flows out through the mufflers! I ran a comp #305H but was never happy with it so I put in the old G.K. custom grind and it woke the little 302 up.

In the B-Gasser the cam red-lined the engine at 8700 rpm in 1973 in a 283. I could rev over 9000 Rpm but my best times came when shifting at around 8500. my valve springs were around 500 Lb. and I had a lot of valve train ware!! The springs on the Vette are around 375 Lb. so it floats earlier I cant get the higher rpm but my valve train lasts longer.

I built another 302 for my wife 79 Camaro project LOL Its pretty !!! Mines not ! I put the Comp #305H cam in it. I built her's old skool 60s style

Nothing to laugh about the 6's held their own and blew away many V8's, Gas class's were full of 6's I ran a J-Gas stump puller in the 60's!

That Pink block is outstanding. You are definitely racking up the brownie points there.:) I like the "Hamburger" sticker on the sump.:)

Here's my shop truck shortly after I installed the tail pipes. The wife is operating the go pedal, I'm doing my best Francis Ford Copolla technique with the camera :D

350 Small Block Chevy with long tube headers, 28 inch Cherry Bomb glass pack mufflers and 2-1/2" dia. full length tail pipes.

Its a 305 chev out of an 86 pickup, with comp. cam, going thru Flowmasters. Goes pretty good and gets 20-21 mpg
