The rear bumper clearly states FLUID DRIVE, a feature that first appeared on the 1946 models.
(Essentially a torque converter installed with the manual clutch.)
There are other upgraded features to the 46, such as an upgrading to the hydraulic brakes, etc.

This is a 46..
That car looks like a 42 to me, surely not a 46. The 46 had the new grille treatment.
