I was looking at a engine on a web-site (blueprint engines) and they stated that a particular 383 had "chevy heavy beam rods" What does that mean? Thanks.
I don't know what that means, but they had a guy selling a 427 bbc in my local paper a while back and said it had high beam rods.I don't know what that means either.Could some one clarify these.

It could be a reference to "X" rods. GM used these is heavy duty truck engines
for years. More material was forged into the rod for strength making them
ideal for high performance use.
