what engines have the distributor in front

hey i was juist wondering what engines have the distributor in front? lol where it should be.

the 302 ford i know.

351,360,390, etc.. Mopar engines also have it in the front cocked to the side.

GM'S LT1 and LT4 has them in the front, then all newer V8 have DIS systems.

Not al Fords are in the front. 55,6,7 Yblocks are in the front and have rear sumps with rink-a-dink external oilpump. Maybe they had some spys over at Chevy during the development of the early SBC??!!

only the bigblock mopars have them in front, the small block motors have them in back.

...hunh?

FORD and LINCOLN Y-BLOCKS have rear driven distributors. What was wrong with the external oil pump? You enjoying jacking up engines to change a pump?

And as for corporate spying, I think you will find it was the other way around. The FORD and LINC Y-BLOCK were here before the SBC.
