What is a fair price for a Pontiac 455?
I'm toying with the idea of going 455 on my 67 GTO but I can't seem to find what I think is a fair price for a block and heads. I'm not looking for anything more then a junkyard pull but the people I call either wish me luck or are asking $900 to $1500 depending on year.
Seems a bit steep, any feedback? |

Around here you can still get 455's for around $500. I paid $200 for a complete 73 400 (oil pan to carb) that I'm going to build for my 71 GTO. Pontiac parts aren't that bad to find around here if you know where to look and being in an all Pontiac club doesn't hurt either. I'm not sure of the prices out west but that may not be a bad deal even though it is alot of money.
